no one belongs here more than you., stories by miranda july was an enchanting read from start to finish. i picked it up on christmas morning, and closed it for the last time shortly after christmas dinner.
the simple, straightforward style of writing is distinctly modern and at times can seem immature. however, i found that perhaps that method was necessary as her fantastic scenarios and surreal descriptions did not need embellishment. in the end the result was a writing one could identify with- it was observational and human.
my only qualm with this book, and it is of no fault of the author, is that i don't think i read it at the right time in my life. i put a note in the front cover that said: "to be read again when in love."
